ZAC des Louvresses
A bespoke, innovative lighting solution for a shared space
Located northeast of Gennevilliers, the 41-hectare Louvresses business district is a vibrant economic community. Home to 30 companies, including industry leaders like Thales and Up group and almost 6,000 employees, the site perfectly balances industry with nature.
Recent developments have transformed the area into a landscaped urban retreat. Key features include a scenic trail alongside Parc des Chanteraines, a convenient footbridge over the A86, and improved paths to encourage active mobility. It was designed to offer a natural respite for commuters and visitors, enhancing the outdoor experience.
Lighting as a sensory experience
The nighttime lighting was designed to create a sensory experience, inviting visitors to explore the site after dark. This vision was brought to life by the OAMI luminaire, designed by Florian Colin (Coup d’Éclat) and developed by Schréder STUDIO.
Inspired by the monumental statues of Easter Island, the OAMI stands out for its sculptural design and versatile configurations, including rectangular columns, bollards, and wall-mounted units. With a refined yet expressive aesthetic, it serves as a striking landmark within the district while blending harmoniously with the green surroundings.
A total of 41 OAMI columns line the pedestrian and cycle paths. Standing five meters tall and spaced progressively at intervals of 15 to 25 meters, they create a fluid visual cadence that feels in total harmony with the landscape.
Engineered for technology, comfort, and durability, the OAMI luminaires throughout the Louvresses district incorporate:
- XPG3 LED modules with LensoFlex®2 optics to ensure uniform light distribution and glare control;
- warm white LEDs (2,200K) to deliver a soft, warm light that respects the natural environment, achieving high uniformity (over 40%);
- intelligent motion sensors that detect movement to activate the next four luminaires in sequence. After 30 seconds of inactivity, the lighting automatically dims to 20% intensity, ensuring a minimum of eight columns remain subtly lit at all times for safety and ambiance.
This adaptive system provides continuous lighting while significantly reducing energy consumption.

The lighting ensures a comfortable pathway, with an average illuminance of 5 lux. The adaptive lighting eliminates any abrupt breaks while minimising energy consumption.
Poetic signposting
Each OAMI column features a unique signposting system. The lower section has a perforated design with 11 stripes that houses RGBW LEDs. Controlled by the DMX protocol, these LEDs deliver a rotating beam of light, acting as a beacon. These light features act as visual anchors, guiding visitors along the path and creating a rhythmic perspective.
A unique nocturnal identity
This innovative lighting has transformed the Promenade des Louvresses into a shared, secure and welcoming space for pedestrians and cyclists.
Far from the noise and bustle of the city, the OAMI lighting system provides the area with a distinctive night-time identity, striking the perfect balance between a poetic atmosphere, comfort and sustainable performance.
