HIGHLY EFFICIENT MODULAR LED LIGHTING FOR CLOSED AREAS

MAXIMUM ENERGY SAVINGS

A minimal total cost of ownership was the driving force behind the development of the Astral LED. It is equipped with LEDs and can offer various dimming and remote management options for a dramatic reduction in energy consumption. It offers a very competitive alternative to luminaires equipped with fluorescent lamps.

PERFORMANCE AND FLEXIBILITY

The Astral LED provides outstanding results in luminance and uniformity.
Optimal photometry is guaranteed by high-performing symmetrical or asymmetrical reflectors and modules of high-power LEDs (1 to 6 modules).
The luminaire modules are hooked onto the housing.
Two different lengths are available for new installations or for replacing the traditional Astral luminaires equipped with fluorescent lamps.
It comes with different tempered glass protectors (slightly structured or sanded) to suit specific applications with low glare.

BEYOND LIGHT

The anodised profile of the Astral LED means that it can be used for much more than lighting as it can be equipped with surveillance cameras, loudspeakers, emergency signage and other features.
The extruded aluminium profile also serves as an integrated cable tray to gather and hide the power supplies and the control cables.
The Astral LED can be dimmed and controlled via a 1-10V controler or a DALI protocol. It is open to an integration in the main control system of a station.

FUTUREPROOF

The optical unit and the control gear can be easily removed, allowing real on-site replacement at the end of its service life in order to take advantage of future technological developments.

OPTIONS

  • Single or twin reflectors
  • 1 to 6 LED modules

PHOTOMETRY

The Astral LED luminaire was specifically developed for downlighting applications such as:

  • metro and railway stations
  • underpasses

The range of lighting distributions includes symmetrical and asymmetrical reflectors that ensure that the specific requirements of each application are met.

(*) The nominal flux is an indicative LED flux @ tj 25°C based on LED manufacturer’s data. The real flux output of the luminaire depends on environmental conditions (e.g. temperature and pollution) and the optical efficiency of luminaire.
Nominal flux depends on the type of LED in use and is likely is to change in accordance with the continuous and rapid developments in LED technology.

Case Study

- Tramway station: 2 x 65m

- Requirements: 200 lux - Uo 25%

Previous installation

New Astral LED installation

 - 58W fluorescent tube

- 3 reflectors per module (33 LEDs @ 350mA)

 - Power consumption: 16W/m

- Power consumption: 9.7W/m

- Uo 70%

Energy savings: 40%

By replacing the old luminaires equipped with 58W fluorescent tubes, the power consumption has been reduced by 40% and the colour rendering index has been improved to 70, enhancing safety and well-being in the station.

The control system can generate additional savings of 10% by dimming the luminaires
when the station is closed (maintenance operations).
This high efficiency leads to a short payback time (less than 5 years).

The long lifespan of the installation ensures long-term massive savings.

EASY INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE

The Astral LED can be recessed in the ceiling, suspended or integrated in a surface mounted housing.

All mounting operations are very easy. IP rated connectors allow quick plug and play operations.
Once the body profile is fixed and aligned, only one techician is necessary  to install and connect the optical unit.
Thanks to the very long lifespan of all the components of the Astral LED luminaire, the maintenance operations are very limited.
No tools are required for maintenance operations.

Key features Excellent uniformity and significant energy savings Excellent visual comfort (no glare) Flexible photometry (symmetrical/asymmetrical distributions) Integrated extra features (cameras, loudspeakers...) Various mounting possibilities Easy access for maintenance
