New factory demonstrates Schréder’s commitment to China

New factory demonstrates Schréder’s commitment to China Mr. Maximilien Schréder, Mr. Karl Reynders (Schréder Regional Director Asia Pacific), Mr. Michel Malherbe (Belgian Ambassador in Tianjin), Mr. André Papoular (CEO - Schréder), Mr. Ai Yamin (Vice Director of Tianjin Economic Development Zone Management Office) and Mr. Liu Hau (General Manager of Schréder (China) Lighting Industrial Co. Ltd) turned on the lights to officially inaugurate the new factory.


Schréder inaugurated its new factory in Tianjin on 11th May. Present in China since 1986, this new facility is more than just an investment to expand our business; it also illustrates our commitment to a country in which we have had very successful operations for many years. 

The new factory is an extension of Schréder’s global production line, meeting strict environmental standards and employing the most modern technologies. It will produce an estimated 100,000 state-of-the-art LED luminaires per year for the local market and for export to Europe, America and Africa, becoming the production hub for the Asia Pacific zone. It illustrates our dedication to meeting demand for high-performing and cost-effective lighting solutions worldwide. 

During the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Liu Hau, General Manager of Schréder (China) Lighting Industrial Co. Ltd remarked “This factory will contribute to accelerating the development of our business by 30 to 40% in the next 3 years. It illustrates our capacity for innovation and our commitment to developing energy-saving and sustainable solutions to create safe environments for our towns and cities”.

André Papoular, Schréder CEO concluded, “This investment marks another step in our long-term presence in China. We aim to create value in the long term wherever we operate. We do so by sourcing locally, creating employment, offering sustainable solutions to help the further development of the country. We are committed to growing here, while creating shared values with the local community, and we are very grateful to the local authorities, partners and staff who have helped us to achieve this goal.”


After the inauguration ceremony, guests visited the factory to discover the modern facilities.


The Schréder team is China looks forward to developing business in the region in the coming years.
