The city centre of Veendendaal has been transformed by a striking nocturnal feature, the Rijkoompje.
This architectural monument, a former family home had been neglected for many years before the local authorities spotted the opportunity to convert the building into a strategic gateway between the city centre and the recently developed Brouwerspoort, a residential and commercial complex by the city’s port.

By illuminating this structure, they wanted to highlight the beauty of the architectural details to really bring the building to life at night and to create a strong identity for what has become the heart of this expanding city.

A total of 6 Rocca floodlights equipped with 30 LEDs and a dynamic RGB system bath the structure in a rotating sequence of attractive colours to create a distinctive and eye-catching landmark. It will be illuminated in different colours for various occasions throughout the year such as Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

This remarkable attraction acts as a truly impressive gateway by enhancing the sense of well-being in this rapidly growing city.
