Vila Nova da Barquinha, a Portuguese village nestled deep in the province of Ribatejo, is one of the first in the region to embrace the new paradigm of public lighting with LED technology. By upgrading to LED street lights, the village willd be able to decrease energy consumption, increase energy efficiency and contribute to the sustainability of the community.
When re-lighting the EN3, a road which crosses the entire village and an increasingly important crossing point for the region, the local authorities chose the Piano LED luminaire on the Nun'Alvares column.
The Piano luminaire provides an energy efficient solution that meets the specific photometrical needs of roads, pedestrian areas and car parks while providing an aesthetic coherence. Schréder has developed photometric LED engines coupled with specific lenses to satisfy all the different application requirements.
In total, 94 Piano 1 luminaires equipped with 48 high-power neutral white LEDs light the car parks and pedestrian areas while 67 Piano 2 luminaires fitted with 96 high-power neutral white LEDs light the roads.
Installed on the Nun'Alvares column, the new lighting solution not only satisfies the project requirements but also provides an harmonious ensemble for the village. |
