NOCTIS

Description

Noctis is a range of recessed luminaires having LED’s (Light Emitting Diodes) as light source. There are 4 basic models - three circular sizes (Mini, Midi and Maxi) and a straight-line version called Linea.
Noctis recessed luminaires are suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. They can be recessed in the ground, the walls or the ceiling. Depending on the configuration, they can be used for waymarking in public areas such as parks, road side or town squares or illuminating urban landscapes.
Noctis luminaires are equipped with SMT, 5 mm or High Powered LED’s in white, red, blue, green or yellow (other colours on request). Various photometric distributions are available – indirect, semi-direct or direct lighting, narrow, semi-concentric or wide beam distribution, etc.
A multiplicity of possible configurations thus gives the lighting designer and architect the flexibility necessary in defining a scheme’s details and achieving the results wanted.

Advantages

  • Reliable
  • Long life
  • No maintenance required
  • Easy installation
  • Many different configurations and finishing plates

Noctis recessed luminaires are designed to provide practical and aesthetic lighting in public places both indoors and outdoors. Various versions and several finishing plates are available.

LED’s and their control gear also offer an exceptionally long life span. There is no need for any kind of maintenance work. Once its life span is over, the box is simply replaced: the holding pot stays in place ready to house a new box.
The box used in the Mini, Midi and Maxi Noctis models is completely sealed. It can be supplied with an outgoing cable or equipped with connectors.
The holding pot, box and internal components of the circular Noctis luminaires are made of composite material and cannot therefore corrode.

Materials

VARIOUS CONFIGURATIONS AND FINISHING PLATES
The three circular Noctis models are available with round or square finishing plates, in stainless steel or aluminium.
Depending on the model, the Noctis range is available with flat or curved, frosted or transparent protector, dome, engraved icon, dichroic filter, etc. The Noctis range also offers the possibility to have various lighting effects -direct, indirect or semi-direct light.

Dimensions

NOCTIS MINI, MIDI, MAXI
Because of its’ mechanical design, installing the Noctis circular luminaires is a flexible process. Two types of installation methods are possible.

  • Before the covering is put into place. The holding cylinder is positioned at the ground level without the covering. Then, the covering (for example concrete) is placed around the cylinder.
Next, the sealed box is fixed into the cylinder together with the selected finishing plate. Mounting is by screws or clips (see table). An installation kit is supplied to help facilitate the operation.
  • After the covering is put into place. A hole is drilled into the existing covering in order
to position the holding cylinder. Next, the sealed box is fixed into the cylinder together with the selected finishing plate. Mounting is by screws or clips (see table).

DEPTH OF RECESSED FITTING
Always allow an additional space, depending on the type of connector used:

  • Mini and Midi: 80 mm (50 mm with angled connectors)
  • Maxi: 50 mm

NOCTIS LINEA
The Noctis Linea luminaires can be positioned on the surface or recessed. If recessed, they are fixed via a rail or directly inserted into the covering (for example, concrete).

Maintenance

LED’s and their control gear offer an exceptionally long lifespan.
There is no need for any kind of maintenance work. Once the LED’s are at the end of their efficient life(which is dependant on type and colour of LED used as well as the specific application amongst other factors), the box is simply replaced. The holding pot remains in place ready to house a new box.
Noctis recessed fittings can be supplied at 24 or 230 volts (except Mini: 24 V). The box used in the Mini, Midi and Maxi Noctis models is completely sealed. It can be supplied with an outgoing cable or equipped with connectors. The holding pot, box and internal components of the circular Noctis fittings are made of composite material and cannot therefore corrode.

Installation

MINI
The Mini model, equipped with clips, is a mere 5 cm in diameter.
The box and holding cylinder on the circular models are made of composite corrosion-proof
material. The box is completely sealed and protects the internal parts against water and dust. The voltage supplied to the Mini models is 24 V.

MIDI
The LED’s have an exceptional life span and consume very little power. No maintenance is necessary. Both the Mini and Midi models can be installed using screws or clips.
Both types of finishing plate can be used on the same lighting point configuration. Angled connectors allow the depth of the recess to be reduced further.

MAXI
Like the Midi and Linea models, the Noctis Maxi comes with a 24 V or 230 V supply.
All the circular versions come with round or square finishing plates. A sealed box guarantees a maximum life for the LED’s (absence of humidity) and prevents loss of luminous flux through accumulation of dirt.

LINEA
The Linea model may be recessed or installed on the surface.
The aluminium profiles are available in 40 to 200 cm modules.
The protective glass may be either flat or curved.

CLIP MOUNTING SYSTEM
A mounting system with clips - for the Noctis Mini and Midi range - allow a perfect flush installation when fixing a Noctis luminaire in an existing covering. In addition, this mounting is also vandal-proof as a special tool is required
to open it.

Photometry

WAYMARKING, ANIMATION OR ILLUMINATION
Noctis luminaires can be used for many different applications. The Noctis range offers a flexibility second to none. In fact, with its different sizes and configurations, and the possibility of altering the colour and intensity of the light produce (using our optional RLD software), Noctis is a must for every designer and architect looking for something innovative in lighting.

ILLUMINATION
All Noctis products can be fitted with different configurations of High Powered LED’s to highlight architectural details. Our know-how and expertise in photometry guarantee the quality of the products’ light distribution.

Options

DYNAMIC VARIATIONS - SHAPES AND COLOURS
The RLD - ’Rainbow LED Driver’ – a control software package for the Noctis range developed by our specialists – allows control of each LED independently. And so, we can create an infinite variety of programmable dynamic effects by altering the intensity or colours of each lighting point, even if they are all on the same line. Such flexibility thus gives way to a very wide range of applications, such as beacons and waymarkings on pavements, public transport station platforms, and emergency exits.
Controlled via the DALI* protocol, the RLD can be incorporated into the Midi, Maxi and Linea versions.

* DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface)is a data protocol and transport mechanism jointly developed and specified by several manufacturers of lighting equipment. The common platform of DALI enables equipment from different manufacturers to be connected together.
A DALI network requires a 24V DC 250 mA power supply to operate.

Equipped with several independent circuits, the Noctis recessed luminaires can produce variations in light intensity in one or more colours.

Colour variation.

Icons and all kinds of other signals can flash on and off to attract attention.
