THYLIA

Description

A MULTIPLICITY OF CONFIGURATIONS AND OPTICS

Designed by Michel Tortel, the Thylia range constitutes an ideal tool for urban lighting initiatives. This range allows the designer to carry out his project in a personalised manner since all the daring touches as regards innovation and originality are permitted here. This is thanks to the fact that the Thylia range is available in a multitude of configurations, finishes and heights of up to 8 metres. One, two, three or four uprights can be mounted in each base. Several bases and a steel wall bracket are available. Fitted with the miniR® (mini-reflector), the luminaire – the luminous head – of the Thylia range is characterised by its hyper-miniaturised size which practically disappears into the urban landscape. The choice of materials leaves no doubt with regard to their noble and robust character: steel or cast metal for the bases and brackets, galvanised steel for the uprights and aluminium and glass for the head.

CREATIVE LIBERTY WITH WHITE LIGHT

Fitted with the miniR® (mini-reflector), the luminaire - the luminous head - of the Thylia range is characterised by its hyper-miniaturised size which practically disappears into the urban landscape.
The hyper-miniaturisation of the reflector offers unprecedented creative liberty. Never before have designers and developers had at their disposal such freedom to develop a luminaire. An optical compartment so small in size does away with many constraints and there are almost no limits to designing an outer cover with a refined and compact appearance. The Thylia luminaire is a perfect example of this renewed liberty. The Thylia range with the mini-reflector has been specifically developed for Cosmopolis and metal halide lamps with a ceramic arc tube giving a pleasant white light and optimum colour rendition. The optical compartment provides an excellent IP 66 tightness level.

Materials

A MINIR® LUMINOUS HEAD

Composed of a cover and a body made of die cast aluminium onto which a glass protector has been sealed, the Thylia luminaire is fitted with the miniR® (mini-reflector) developed to meet two requirements: aesthetics and photometry. The head is fitted with a spirit level – incorporated into the cover – in order to ensure that all the luminaires have an exactly uniform degree of inclination.

ACCESS WITHOUT TOOLS

A closing lever enables the cover to be opened and gives access to the lamp holder plug. The control gear is incorporated in the base of the lighting column or in the wall bracket.

Installation

BASE MADE OF FACETED STEEL WITH REDUCED DIAMETER AT THE TOP END (E AR), FOR ALL CONFIGURATIONS WITH 3 OR 4 UPRIGHTS.

BASE MADE OF SMOOTH CAST IRON (E F), FOR ANY CONFIGURATION WITH UP TO 2 UPRIGHTS.

BASE MADE OF STRUCTURED CAST IRON (E FS), FOR ANY CONFIGURATION WITH UP TO 2 UPRIGHTS.

BASE MADE OF FACETED STEEL WITH REDUCED DIAMETER AT THE TOP END (E AR), FOR ANY CONFIGURATION WITH UP TO 2 UPRIGHTS.

WALL BRACKET MADE OF STEEL (CM), FOR A 1-UPRIGHT CONFIGURATION.

Nodular cast iron is used for the bases. For greater security, it offers malleability and elasticity characteristics comparable with those of steel in case of impacts.

Mounting bases

E [AR] 3 or 4 uprights -> Triple or quadruple steel

E [F] -> Smooth cast iron

E [FS] -> Structured cast iron

E [AR] -> Single or double steel

Photometry

PERFORMANCE AND MULTIPLE OPTICS

At the photometric level as well, the miniR® constitutes a suitable response to the reduced size of the new compact lamps producing white light and optimising colour rendition. Regarding photometric performance, no concessions have been made and the miniR® has been developed to comply with the same photometric standards as other standard-sized reflectors. The availability of two reflectors enables complex photometric solutions to be envisaged combining longitudinal lighting (road surface) and transverse lighting (squares, esplanades).
