ZEBRA

Description

The Zebra range has been specifically developed to meet the lighting requirements of pedestrian crossings. A special reflector can be incorporated in luminaires such as Neos 3, Calypso, Sapphire 2, Citea or MC 2 and MC 3.
Luminaires in the Zebra range provide maximum lighting (vertical levels) in a plane perpendicular to the roadway centreline.
Positioned in front of the pedestrians, a maximum positive contrast is obtained against the surroundings.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ILLUMINATING PEDESTRIAN CROSSINGS :

Photometric performance is optimised by positioning the luminaire 1.50 m in front of the pedestrian crossing at a height of 6 m.
Luminaires should also be suspended 50 cm out from the pavement over the road. In this way, they will stand proud of the line of other luminaires.
Drivers’ attention can also be caught by a change of colour in the light sources. So the luminaire in the Zebra range will be fitted with a metal halide lamp when the rest of the road is illuminated with high-pressure sodium, and vice-versa.

Advantages

The Zebra reflector produces maximum positive contrast between pedestrians and their surroundings (Diagram shown for driving at the right hand side of the road).

The Zebra reflector can be incorporated in luminaires such as Neos 3 (1), Calypso (2),
Sapphire 2 (3), Citea (4) or MC 2 and MC 3 (5).
