Description

LIGHT FURNITURE, STREET FURNITURE This elegant design, created by the architectural consultants Art & Build in collaboration with Pierre Lallemand, forms one element of a coherent ensemble of street furniture (benches, bollards, window boxes, etc.) and testifies to the great visual comfort offered by indirect lighting. A sealed optical compartment is positioned at the top of the lighting column made of hot galvanised steel. The lighting column – clad in cylindrical elements made of painted cast aluminium – is topped by a 2.5-mm thick wing-shaped reflector painted in white. The reflective wing can be either symmetrical or asymmetrical depending on the type of lighting desired. The uprights supporting the wing are made of stainless steel. The lighting column is available in two sizes: 3 and 4 metres. Other finishes of lighting column are available as options: the cylindrical elements can be supplied in stainless steel, brushed or with a satin finish. The lighting column made of hot galvanised steel is also available without the cylindrical elements. Various accessories can be incorporated into the lighting column: loudspeakers, electric sockets, etc. Please consult us for any other type of accessory.

WINGS OF LIGHT The indirect lighting produced by the Hermes allows excellent light distribution uniformity at ground level and optimum visual comfort. Designed for light sources emitting white light, the Hermes provides excellent colour rendition. The Hermes is available in two lighting versions: the design of the reflective wing determines whether the lighting is symmetrical or asymmetrical.

Materials
		SEALSAFE® OPTICAL COMPARTMENT Presenting an IP 66 (Sealsafe®) degree of tightness, the optical compartment is closed by high thermal resistance curved glass. The optical compartment is mounted in the body of the luminaire at the top of the lighting column. The body of the cast aluminium luminaire is painted a RAL or AKZO shade. The 2.5mm thick aluminium reflector wing is painted white. The control gear is mounted on a spacer under the optical compartment.

Maintenance
		The optical compartment and the control gear placed beneath are easily removed from the luminaire for maintenance operations. Electrical connection is via a hatch at the foot of the lighting column.

Photometry
		INDIRECT LIGHT – VISUAL COMFORT Whether used in the symmetrical or asymmetrical version, the Hermes provides indirect lighting, a source of beautifully uniform light distribution at ground level and optimum visual comfort. The focusing was specially adjusted in order to minimise the loss of luminous flux.
